Three Real Options. Not One Sales Pitch.

Gutter Guards in Jacksonville, FL — LeafBlaster Pro, Alu-Rex DoublePro, and E-Z Smooth Flow

Most gutter guard companies sell one product because they manufacture one product — the sales call is the same regardless of your home, your trees, or your budget. Gutter Pro is an authorized installer of three different systems. We match the product to your property, not the property to our inventory.

Gutter Pro installs gutter guards within 30 miles of downtown Jacksonville, covering Duval, St. Johns, Clay, and Nassau counties. Owner Albert Urbank walks every property before a guard is specified, because the guard choice depends on the gutter underneath it.

The Three Systems We Install

LeafBlaster Pro — 316 stainless micromesh (the default)

Surgical-grade 316 marine stainless micromesh on a contoured aluminum frame, low profile, color-matched to the gutter. The only mesh fine enough to handle Northeast Florida's live oak, water oak, and pine straw — debris stays on top and blows away or rinses off in the next storm. Lowest-maintenance option we install, backed by a 40-year manufacturer warranty registered with Gutterglove on install day. Recommended for most Northeast Florida homes.

Alu-Rex DoublePro — continuous hanger + double-layer aluminum (the coastal pick)

Not a mesh — a structure. DoublePro is a continuous hanger with a double-layer aluminum guard that fastens along the entire gutter run, structurally reinforcing the gutter while it protects it. That's the reason to choose it: the heaviest oak and pine canopies, coastal salt-air exposure, large estate roofs, and any gutter that benefits from continuous structural support instead of clip-in hardware. New installs only, with a lifetime no-clog warranty on the cover and hanger.

E-Z Smooth Flow — perforated aluminum (light canopy)

Color-matched perforated aluminum guard for light tree cover, rentals, and budget-conscious projects. Snap-in install, 20-year limited warranty. We're honest about its limits: perforated guards don't handle heavy oak canopy, and we won't install one where micromesh is what the trees demand.

Not sure which fits your canopy? Use the gutter guard picker — it matches product to tree cover in under a minute.

Every Guard Install Includes

Full debris removal from the existing gutters. Inspection and tightening of the entire gutter system — hangers, end caps, and sectional joints sealed before the guard goes on. Color-matched installation to the existing fascia or gutter. Stainless and corrosion-rated fasteners across the coastal corridor (painted steel fasteners corrode through within years near the Atlantic and Intracoastal). Manufacturer warranty registration on file with Gutterglove or Alu-Rex on the day of install. And Gutter Pro's lifetime workmanship warranty on top.

Guards Only Work on a Sound Gutter System

Gutter guards do not fix a failing gutter. If the gutters are pulled off the fascia, undersized for the roof, sectional with leaking joints, or running spike-and-ferrule that has rusted through, a guard install is wasted money. We inspect before quoting, and if the gutters need work first, the quote shows both scopes honestly. Most full-system jobs combine new seamless 6, 7, or 8-inch gutters with LeafBlaster Pro on the same mobilization — often qualifying for Wisetack 0% intro APR financing. And a guard is required on any system tied into underground drainage — it's what keeps the buried lines silt-free.

How a Gutter Guard Install Works

1. Free on-site walk. Albert evaluates the tree canopy, gutter condition, and roof type. The right product is the one that matches your debris load — not the most expensive line on the quote. 2. Detailed written quote — product, footage, color, gutter repairs if any, itemized, no surprise upcharges. 3. Cleaning and inspection — debris cleared, hangers tightened or replaced, loose end caps and joints sealed. 4. Color-matched install. 5. Manufacturer registration — warranty on file the day of install. 6. Final walkthrough with Albert — lifetime workmanship warranty starts the day we leave.

Gutter Guards FAQ

What do gutter guards actually do?

They keep leaves, pine straw, oak tassels, twigs, and roof grit out of the gutter trough while letting water through. The result: fewer clogs, fewer overflow events at the fascia and foundation, and dramatically less ladder time. A good guard doesn't eliminate maintenance entirely, but it reduces a quarterly cleaning to an annual rinse for most properties.

What's the difference between micromesh and perforated guards?

Micromesh uses a fine stainless screen that blocks even pine straw and shingle grit while passing water by surface tension — it handles oak and pine canopy. Perforated aluminum has larger punched holes and relies on debris sliding off — it handles light tree cover only. We install both: LeafBlaster Pro for micromesh, E-Z Smooth Flow for perforated — and we won't install perforated under heavy oak.

What's the difference between LeafBlaster Pro and Alu-Rex DoublePro?

They solve different problems. LeafBlaster Pro is a filter: 316 stainless micromesh on a low-profile frame, color-matched, 40-year warranty — the all-around recommendation. Alu-Rex DoublePro is a structure: a continuous hanger with a double-layer aluminum guard that reinforces the entire gutter run as it protects it, with a lifetime no-clog warranty — the pick for coastal homes, very heavy canopy, and gutters that benefit from continuous structural support.

Do gutter guards stop oak debris in Northeast Florida?

LeafBlaster Pro and Alu-Rex DoublePro both handle oak debris well — tassels, leaves, and fine live-oak grit stay on top and either blow away or rinse off in the next storm. Perforated guards and plastic inserts do not handle oak debris, and we won't install them under a heavy oak canopy.

Do I still need to clean my gutters with guards installed?

Less, but not never. Even the best micromesh develops surface debris under heavy oak canopy. Expect an annual rinse instead of quarterly hand-cleaning. The maintenance reduction is the point.

How much do gutter guards cost?

It depends on the product, the linear footage, and the condition of the gutters underneath — guards over sound gutters price differently than a combined gutter-and-guard scope. Albert walks the property, matches the product to your canopy, and delivers an itemized written quote on the spot. The guard picker narrows the product before the visit; the walk itself is free.

What's the warranty on gutter guards?

LeafBlaster Pro: 40-year manufacturer warranty, registered with Gutterglove at install. Alu-Rex DoublePro: lifetime no-clog warranty on cover and hanger. E-Z Smooth Flow: 20-year limited warranty. Gutter Pro adds a lifetime workmanship warranty on top of all three — if the install fails, we fix it at no charge.

Will gutter guards damage my roof?

Not when installed correctly. LeafBlaster Pro and E-Z Smooth Flow attach to the gutter itself, never under the shingle — we don't install guards that require lifting the first shingle row, which can void roof warranties. Alu-Rex DoublePro attaches via its own continuous hanger and stays clear of the roof field.

Do gutter guards work in heavy rain?

Yes — when the gutter under them is sized right. LeafBlaster Pro micromesh handles tropical-storm-intensity rain when paired with correctly sized 6 or 7-inch gutters and adequate downspout capacity; DoublePro's slot-and-rib design channels heavy rain into the gutter. Where guards "fail" in heavy rain, the gutter is usually undersized for the roof, not the guard — check the sizing breakdown.

Why not just install cheap plastic guards?

Plastic guards and DIY foam inserts fail within one to two seasons here: the plastic embrittles under UV, the foam holds water and grows mold, and both clog within a few oak-debris cycles. The replacement cost plus years of overflow damage exceeds a real install. We don't install plastic or foam.

Do you install guards on commercial buildings?

Yes — LeafBlaster Pro and Alu-Rex on commercial buildings, HOA common areas, multi-family, and light-commercial offices across Northeast Florida, with the same products and warranties as residential. See commercial gutters.
